Preeti Reddy is an Associate and Senior Project Designer who enjoys exploring nontraditional artistic outlets and unique approaches to design. Her inquisitive nature allows her to develop concepts that reinforce the client’s culture and mission.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I draw black and white patterns. I have started to sell postcards and wrapping paper but am hoping to start a wallpaper line soon! I also design custom Chucks!
What did you want to do when you were a kid?
When I was in 5th grade, I wanted to be a heart surgeon. There was obviously no thought process behind that decision.
What made you decide you wanted to be a designer?
I wanted to do something creative and interior design was the first thing I thought of!
What do you enjoy most about being a designer?
I like the fact that you have to be resourceful. And sometimes, you have to build things yourself!
How is the workplace different today from 5 years ago?
Clients are more open to a funkier aesthetic. They are more open ‘Makers’ personalizing and adding to their space.
What do you think is the most efficient way to attract and recruit millennials?
I think social networking is a great way to recruit. Why not take advantage of the fact that everyone is on their phone constantly!
How do you design a space that will appeal to a multi-generational workforce?
I try not to look to trends to influence the design. Trends come and go quickly.
Providing an assortment of spaces is key. A variety of ambiguous spaces combined with areas that are more defined helps employees choose what best suits their needs.
With open work environments quickly becoming the norm, how do you design for introverts?
It helps to have various types of private spaces whether it is phone rooms, respite rooms, isolated huddle/collaboration areas, etc.
If you could live in any country other than the U.S., where would it be and why?
I would love to visit all the countries before I answer this question….but for now; I think I would like to live in Portugal. It’s so diverse, the food is good and the people are really nice. Plus it would be really easy to travel to the rest of Europe and Africa.

The Chelsea Hotel in the early 70s
What 3 items would you take to a desert island other than food and water?
A map, a knife, and music.
What animal best describes your personality?
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
Meryl Streep. She can play ANY role!
If you could meet a famous person, living or deceased, who would it be and why?
Karen O. She’s the coolest rockstar out there!
If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?
