American management consultant Booz Allen Hamilton has been at the forefront of strategy, technology, and engineering for over 100 years. The firm approached OTJ to design a high visibility ecosystem that would model a creative, agile, and inter-disciplinary work paradigm. Located on the first floor of the firm’s downtown offices, the Innovation Center is the physical embodiment of the firm’s evolution, engineered to connect talent, entrepreneurs, and industry partners around common problem sets.
The Center translates Booz Allen Hamilton’s aspirations into a fishbowl-like workspace comprised of rapidly reconfigurable workstation clusters that surge and scale to accommodate the needs of the rotating groups that inhabit it. In minutes, the space can transform from a series of small team workspaces to an oversized event space with a capacity of nearly 300 guests. In addition, the Center features a product showcase complete with multimedia and interactive displays as well as a “Maker Space” in which diverse teams gather to brainstorm, collaborate, and prototype.
