We are happy to announce that OTJ Partner Kevin Sneed, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, has received the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Virginia chapter’s Award for Distinguished Achievement. This award recognized especially noteworthy contributions by an architect in design, practice, education, and service to the community or profession. The Award for Distinguished Achievement will be presented at this year’s Visions for Architecture Gala on Friday, November 8th.
With over 30 years of experience, Kevin serves as OTJ ’s Senior Director of Architecture and is responsible for the firm’s Quality Assurance and Control program. A sought-after authority on permitting as well as building and zoning codes, Kevin draws on a background in both interior and core-and-shell architecture to solve technical problems without compromise to budget, schedule, or design integrity. His expertise is associated with the success of many of OTJ ’s most complex projects.
Kevin is equally committed to sharing his knowledge with the next generation of design talent and serves as a guest lecturer at institutions such as the George Washington University School of Interior Architecture and Design. A member of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), United States Green Building Council (USGBC), and the Construction Specification Institute (CSI), Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition, he is currently a board member for the State of Maryland Board of Architects and for NCARB’s Professional Code of Conduct.
