Lobby Renovation
The
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) needed a creative
design to expand and renovate their two existing lobbies and vestibules
that would speak to their
organization’s core message. The design required use of materials
found within the airline and transportation security industries. The
project scope required a new storefront vestibule addition, and front
and rear lobby renovations capable of handling the constant flow of
heavy foot traffic.
Security
turnstiles (a programmatic necessity) were creatively integrated
as a functional design element. The use of wood panels broke up the
rigidity of the existing construction, creating a warm and vibrant
space within the concrete shell. Demolition of the existing 9'
ceilings of the elevator lobby allowed for our designers to create
a unique vaulted ceiling within this space.
