Rosetta
Stone
Arlington, VA
Rosetta
Stone, is the world’s leader in
language software. Known internationally, their architectural design
requirements had to reflect a modern, progressive image within
a multicultural environment. A touch of warmth
was added by using wood and frosted glass for the
reception desk. Adjacent to the reception area, the conference
room has etched glass doors mounted on modern steel rails that provide privacy
while allowing natural light to pass through. Curves in the base building structure
provided a unique challenge in designing the space. Thus the interior
walls
and
counter tops in the kitchen
area were designed to match the curved structure of the base building. Indentions
in these walls help create an open office atmosphere yet still allow privacy.
Bright yet subtle use of color was included within these indentions that match
the lounge style furniture. The
workstations are located within the heart of the space and designed
to allow all employees to enjoy the best views available, including
the Potomac River, Lincoln Memorial bridge and downtown Rossyln. Octagon
shaped workstations allow multiple workers to face away from each other.
