What is a fun fact about yourself?

I played the violin for 8 years.  On a winter break from college, I found my violin broken.  I didn’t want to throw it away, so I made it into an art project.

What did you want to do when you were a kid?

I wanted to be a Veterinarian.

What made you decide you wanted to be a designer?

Rearranging furniture and the satisfaction I encountered was a clue.  It wasn’t until I took a couple electives in college that sealed the deal.

What is your favorite building and why?

I have so many favorites, but to narrow down to a few:

Houses/castles: Falling Water is unique, simple and I like how everything has a purpose. Neuschwanstein is amazingly romantic and getting to the structure is an adventure in itself.

Cathedrals: Notre-Dame’s Gothic details and dramatic stained glass windows are breathtaking.

Where were you going the first time you flew in a plane?

I flew to Arkansas to visit family in the Ozarks.

If you could live in any country other than the U.S., where would it be and why?

I would live in Germany for its classic and modern architecture, beautiful landscapes, pleasant culture and abundance of brotchen!  Oh, and the beer is not bad either.

What is your absolute favorite sweet treat?

That’s difficult, my go-to is a chocolate chip cookie, but lately, it’s marzipan.

What is your go-to movie?

If I’m not watching children movies with my kids, it would be a comedy/ romantic comedies.

If you could meet a famous person, living or deceased, who would it be and why?

Oprah!  Why not!

If you could master one skill you don’t have right now, what would it be?

Woodworking!   Connecting to another form of creativity and learning patience for the process sounds gratifying.
